Before settling into a dark basement apartment on McCaul Street in Toronto, Mia Viva traveled widely in Europe and beyond. In her fourth year in OCAD University’s Illustration program, she spends most of her time shifting back and forth between the digital and analog realms. Proficient in all things Adobe, she’s comfortable working in vectors, but her true medium of choice is acrylic gouache. Recently, two of her illustrations have been used as the label art for beer cans for Collective Arts Brewing. In the coming years, she hopes to produce more illustrative work for both children’s books and editorial illustrations.
